NGC 7243 (visual)
NGC7243 is a magnitude 6.5 open cluster in the constellation Lacerta. Sky and Telescope's Sue French has nicknamed it "The Borken Heart" because of its roughly heart shape and dark lane running through it when seen at low powers. A small to medium sized refractor will show about 50 stars with a central isosceles triangle. The SW corner of the triangle is Struve-2890, a mag 9.3 and 9.7 double star separated by 9".

This image was manipulated in Photoshop to try to give an approximation of what the view would look like through a telescope. The view represents approximate a 1 degree field of view.
